The Acquisition Operating Framework is a comprehensive information site embodying the principles of Smart Acquisition (SA). Via the Acquisition Operating Framework (AOF), users can access the Commercial Managers Toolkit (CMT). This contains comprehensive details of commercial policy-related guidance and users can also access all MOD's DEFCONS and DEFFORMSs. Although primarily aimed at an internal MOD audience and industry, it has been released on the internet to promote a wider understanding of the new acquisition processes and to encourage feedback as part of the MOD's commitment to continuous improvement and open government. The AOF is updated monthly to deliver improved functionality and new or revised content. However, it is intended that the AOF will eventually become a live site providing new information as soon as it becomes available.
