Date: 6 February 2019
Venue: MOD Main Building, Whitehall, London
The threat posed by Explosive Ordnance (EO) will continue to feature heavily in the operating environment of the future. The UK’s ability to counter this threat – whether it be posed by mines, Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXO), Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) or other Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) – requires a combined, joint, intra-governmental, inter-agency and multinational response that utilises all available levers to ensure our freedom of movement and action.
Technology proliferation and the associated sophistication of capabilities becoming available to the UK’s adversaries means that Defence’s relationship with Industry is more important than ever. Adopting an ethos of mutual understanding, enabled by close collaboration, will enable the UK to meet tomorrow’s EO threat.
Following last year’s extremely successful event hosted by DEODS, the Manoeuvre Support capability team from Army Headquarters – responsible for developing future capabilities in the Land Domain – will hold an Industry Briefing Day at MoD Main Building on Wednesday 6th February 2019. The theme for this year’s event is:
Countering tomorrow’s Explosive Ordnance threat – Joint Force 2025 and beyond
Focusing on future challenges the programme will include:
- The future EO threat
- Manoeuvre Support to Joint Force 2025
- Innovation, future technologies and research & experimentation opportunities
- Likely future C-EO capability requirements
- Opportunities for Industry
The event will run from 09:30 to 16:30 at MoD Main Building, Whitehall, London SW1A 2HB. Details of an informal networking reception, to be held locally after the event, will be sent to attendees nearer the time.
Due to the nature of the briefings being delivered, attendance is restricted to personnel who hold SC clearance as a minimum.
