Active working teams across three dedicated areas are set to deliver live scenario based IEDD demonstrations at this year’s Counter Terror Expo event in London.
Counter Terror Expo, which will take place on 24-25 April at the Olympia exhibition and conference centre in London, has expanded its hugely successful Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) live demonstration area for the 2013 event.
Live scenario based demonstrations will feature across both days of the event, delivered by active working teams across three dedicated areas.
First Responder (HART) teams will focus on best practice and inter-agency cooperation for police, fire and ambulance teams responding to IEDD threats, containment and disposal. Also, counter-terrorism specialists will highlight the civilian or Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) approach by showcasing cutting-edge technology and equipment including Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGVs) used to combat IEDD threats. Further to that, the military approach will demonstrate a focus on explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and the use of UGVs in a combat setting.
These demonstrations will draw on past operations from UK military squadrons and leading companies within this field including Northrup Grumman and NARU. Attendees will be provided with the UK’s methods, approaches and innovations to combating IEDD, EOD and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNe) risks by highlighting successful case studies, live demonstrations and best practice that can be incorporated by all international task forces tasked with reducing these risks.
Each session will last for half an hour and will feature a Q&A session for audience members to directly interact with these highly acclaimed teams.
The event will also host over 400 exhibitors, 17 free to attend show floor workshop programmes and new feature areas including the Maritime Security and Anti-Piracy Zone, Oil and Gas Security Zone, Cyber Security Zone and Integrated Security Zone alongside established zones such as the IEDD Zone and the Armoured and Support Vehicle Zone.
The visitor pass will also allow free entry to Forensics Europe Expo 2013, also at the Olympia in London on 24-25 April. This is your only opportunity to view the latest cutting-edge evidence collection technology, innovative interviewing and CCTV products, and DNA, toxicology and drug testing equipment while connecting with the entire forensics industry brought together for the first time in the UK.
