Date: 16 November 2018
Times: To be agreed with attendees
Venue: Corsham, Wiltshire
The MODCloud Hosting Project wishes to invite potential suppliers to present information on services and demonstrate products to relevant technical and business staff from the programme.
This Discovery Day is intended to inform and validate the Service Operation Centre design and to refine the requirements. Note that beyond seeking technical clarifications or explanations of functionality attendees will not be able to enter into dialogue about the requirements as part of the Discovery Day.
This Discovery Day will focus on innovative Security Incident and Event Management and Security Orchestration & Automated Response solutions rather than traditional Security Operations Centres. We are only interested in products (and related services) which deliver autonomous or semi-autonomous threat detection, prevention, and/or response. These must be existing off-the-shelf products already operating in at least one live environment.
Suppliers able to demonstrate potentially suitable products are invited to request a place on the day by sending an email stating the products they intend to demonstrate and that they meet the criteria described above to: ISSComrcl-ASDT-Multiuser@mod.gov.uk no later than 10:00 on 9 November 2018. Further information will be supplied to confirmed attendees.
Responding to this announcement is voluntary and does not start the official procurement process for the requirement. Participation in the Discovery Day does not guarantee, or jeopardise, your inclusion in a future procurement exercise. It should be noted that all information released in relation to the Discovery Day is released on a without commitment basis, is subject to change and may not form part of any future procurement process.
No down-selection will take place as a consequence of any responses or interactions relating to the Discovery Day. Additionally, no information provided in response to this announcement or in relation to the Discovery Day will be used in any way for the purpose of evaluating suppliers or their products in any future procurement process.
What is MODCloud Hosting?
This is a project to update and modernise Defence’s approach to hosting software and data. The service is currently in beta, and is intended to provide an ecosystem of hosting operations covering multiple networks that will allow user needs to be met more quickly and retain the ability to respond to change.
MODCloud is intended to include many digital/agile enabling features such as continuous test and integration capabilities and the ability to scale systems up and down as required.
